Visitors to Jersey now need travel insurance

Thu 2nd Apr 2009

From 1976 until 31st March 2009 UK residents could travel to Jersey and receive medical treatment during their stay; due to a reciprocal health agreement between UK and Jersey.

This arrangement ceased on 1st April 2009 and therefore visitors planning a visit are strongly advised to buy travel insurance.  The only medical care offered to UK visitors will be emergency treatment.  Associated costs i.e. an air ambulance to repatriate to the UK will not be provided free of charge.

Instant travel insurance is available from Underwood Insurance through this website.
