Insurance Cutbacks "false economy"

Bob Atkinson, travel insurance specialist at comparison website moneysupermarket has warned customers using the site that trying to save money by not purchasing insurance for holidays  - whether they are in the UK or far away - is a "false economy", as nobody can foresee what mishaps can occur.  He added "Foregoing travel insurance for a UK break could be a costly mistake;  you never know what is waiting around the corner to spoil you break away".

Research carried our by the website found, that 49% of users would choose not to cover their belongings while they travel around the UK, even though cover for solely the UK can be very cheap. (International Travel Insurance Journal May 2010)
